Red Mirror half-soles are manufactured by the Italian company, Casali, made from a TPU composite. TPU or thermoplastic polyurethane, is light, non-slip and extremely durable compound. Casali Mirror come in two thicknesses: 1.0mm and 1.3mm and feature a high-gloss, lacquer finish.
The boot was resoled by our cobblers using a 1.4mm Casali Mirror sheet. The previous plastic sole guard, which was attached by another shoe repair company, was carefully removed. The damaged areas were cleaned and sanded, and the leather sole was prepared for the new Casali Mirror protective sole guard. The heels were replaced and a matching Casali Mirror half-heel was added, preserving the original Louboutin design.
These Louboutin boots were worn through their protective sole guard, right down to the leather sole. The distinctive red heels were torn completely off.
GTO, an Italian company, produces both sheets and half-soles from a TPU based material, with an approximate thickness of 1.3mm. The finish is not a high-gloss but does have some sheen. Their famous "GTO" logo is proudly displayed.
